Built from the field, for the field
Instrumentation Hub was started to make practical I&C knowledge easier to find, and to give engineers and technicians a place to help each other.
I&C professional working across power plants, oil & gas and energy, from projects and commissioning to day-to-day operations. I believe in learning something new every day, and this platform is how I share it.
My work has covered the full life of an instrument: from datasheets, sizing and vendor review, through installation checks, calibration, loop checking and commissioning, to troubleshooting live plants where a wrong reading costs real money.
Why this platform
Instrumentation Hub is a place to learn, practise and discuss instrumentation and control, whether you are a student, a technician or an experienced engineer:
- Learn the fundamentals with study guides written in plain language, with the formulas and the field tips.
- Practise with free calculators and interactive simulators: tune a PID loop, test a 4–20 mA loop, size a valve. Try it without risk before you do it on a live plant.
- Discuss real problems from site in the community: share a new issue, get answers from people who have faced the same one, and help others.
- Keep up with new technology, such as smart transmitters, digital communication, modern control systems and safety systems, as the field keeps changing.
Share your feedback
This platform is built for the global instrumentation community: engineers, technicians and students. Suggestions, corrections and ideas for new tools are always welcome.
